The Lord keeps bringing me back to the book of John over and over again. "You know why God keeps bringing you there, right?" asks Amy (my best friend and flatmate). Seeing a blank look on my face, she says without missing a beat, "Because John is 'the disciple whom Jesus loved'." Silence.

"God probably wants to show you how much He loves you."

Right. To know more of God's Love. I've been through this before. I know what this means. This means deep inner healing...

"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." John 14: 13-14 NKJV

The past ten years have allowed me the beautiful opportunity to practice one particular fruit of the spirit: long-suffering. I know, it sounds depressing, in fact, there were many parts of it that were (see prior blogs that are full of emotion and writings that only half-make sense, hah!). But what I gained in return, and to my surprise, was the rest of the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Who would have thought?

While reading the book of John, it was highlighted to me that Jesus invites us to ask Him for anything three consecutive times (John 14, 15, and 16). I have to admit, even without the Holy Spirit prompting me, I am quite happy and have zero problems to ask for help especially when I need it, but this invitation is different. God is asking me to expand my capacity to receive His love by inviting me to ask Him for anything with hope. Not the human hope that draws on past experiences and braces itself for possible disappointment, no. God wants me to ask Him for anything with Godly hope, the kind of hope that truly believes God is the promise-fulfiller, the Father who loves to give good gifts to His children, the God of the impossible.

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you." John 15:7 NKJV

God's invitation to you: "Ask Me Anything."

So, as Claudia does, she made a list:

  • I would like to be used by God in a greater capacity.

  • I would like to see London Valor take off and have $1M in revenue in less than one year.

  • I would like to be a mother for the nations, an influencer, and a world changer.

  • I would like to have an income of $185K at minimum, $5M per year preferred (heheh, ... why not?).

  • I would like wisdom to always go before me and remain with me all the days of my life.

"Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:24

What would you like to ask the Lord for?

Prayer:

Lord, I come to You with a willing heart. Align my life and my will to Yours.

Help remove the doubt within my life that roots itself in the pains of my past experiences. Father, will you restore Godly hope in those areas? Will you help me believe that you are the promise-fulfiller, a good Father, and the God of the impossible?

I come to you, place my fears aside, and ask for ...

[insert list here]

In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Luke 1:37 NKJV

"For with God nothing will be impossible."
